Small bedrooms often challenge your creativity to decorate a bedroom with an ideal design. Even so, you can still work with the space you have and make the most of it. Here are some ideas on how to decorate a small bedroom.
This is not a suggestion, it is a must. Shreds of paper, old money, old magazines, children’s toys, or other objects that can clutter up your bedroom should be removed or placed in a suitable place. Make this a habit. Cluttering will only narrow the space that’s already limited.
Choose the right furniture
Instead of using a cupboard or wardrobe that is wide and short, choose tall, sleek furniture with a few details and a simple design. Apart from saving space, the sleek and tall furniture design gives the illusion of a wider space.
To save more space, choose a queen bed instead of a king bed. It’s best if you get a bed that has storage space under the bed as that usually is wasted space and just collects dust. Ignore bedside tables; and instead, you can mount a shelf on the wall to store things.
Keep everything simple
In addition to furniture, you can achieve simplicity in the decoration of windows, beds and floors. Avoid heavy patterns, ornaments, and materials and choose light ones. Choose a plain sheet with a single pattern and a light curtain that matches the color of the walls.
No need for very detailed curtains. Curtains are a better choice for small bedrooms. If not necessary, additional accessories should not be placed in the bedroom. Place in another, wider room.
Use bright color paint
Instead of using dark colors like purple, black or dark blue, paint the walls using bright colors like sea green, soft pink, or light blue. A brighter color will enhance the impression of a spacious room.
Choose good lighting
For a small bedroom, you can choose any type of lamp except for a floor lamp. Install lights on the wall to save space. Install the lamp by placing it near the bed, which will add to the illusion of a more comfortable room. Don’t use bright lights; lamps with a soft, soft light are preferred.
Place the mirror effectively
Place the mirror where it can reflect natural light from the window. The reflection of the mirror gives a watery impression to your bedroom. Be careful not to place the mirror in the wrong place. If it reflects chaos, it will only add to the feeling of being messy and it can trigger feelings of stress.
