The master bedroom is the most private space in your home. It is also one of the first rooms you will think of when planning to redecorate. You certainly want to maximize the space so that the room looks as large as possible while still creating a comfortable and cozy atmosphere.
During the day, your master bedroom should be fresh, bright and airy. Clashing colors, large patterns, or bold wallpaper designs on walls are out to make the room look smaller and cramped. Walls and floors do better in warm and neutral tones.
If buying completely new bedroom furniture is not within your budget, there are many ways to create affordable home décor without changing the furniture. Rearranging existing sections can give your room a whole new look.
Minimize the number of sections to avoid the room looking cluttered. Your bed should be positioned so that you can move freely around the room and don’t block doors or windows.
Make room for items
Storage is important in the bedroom but if you don’t have a lot of free space in the room you will have to clean up some clutter to make room for the things you actually need to deal with. Sort your drawers and cupboards and get rid of anything you haven’t used or used for at least a year.
Your clothes are included in your bedroom, your sports equipment and children’s toys are not. If you’re really short on storage space, try finding space for some storage baskets either on the shelf or above the cupboard.
Added a simple wooden dining chair
A simple wooden dining chair can be softened for bedroom use by adding a loose covering. The beauty of this is that you can change the cover depending on the season and the look you want to achieve.
Note that very delicate fabrics are not suitable for everyday use. This loose scabbard is so easy to sew that you can use fabric to make your own.
Put down light curtains
You can create an ultra feminine bedroom by placing light curtains floating around the bed. Use luxurious embroidered fabric to restore the headboard and add a matching pillow. Embroidered fabrics can look beautiful as simple curtains, or use pretty window treatments in subtle colors and textures.
Consider having two sets of curtains; a light thin set to give a summer feel in warmer weather and a deeper, heavier colored set for chilly winter nights. Coordinating the bedding sets brings the view together.
Replace with a new coat of paint
Applying a fresh coat of paint will freshen up the dullest of rooms. Take your color scheme from an accessory you like, such as a picture or rug and plan your accent from it.
Add some pretty finishing touches, like a pile of pillows on the bed or a firming throw. An attractive flower vase or scented candle will add to the romantic atmosphere.
